Kiah I had such an amazing experience at chubby Trout Restaurant in Elkhart! The food was incredible, but what really made the night special was our server. Kiah was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Kiah checked on us often without being overbearing, gave great recommendations, and created such a welcoming atmosphere. It’s rare to find service that genuinely makes you feel valued as a customer. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and even better service!
Absolutely delicious food and excellent service! The Chubby Trout was juicy and full of flavor, the coconut shrimp were incredible and unique, and the Volcano Sushi was a true explosion of taste. Lalo was very kind and attentive, our waitress was amazing, and the cozy atmosphere made it even better. We’ll definitely be back!
10/10 experience from the crab cakes appetizer to the panama punch! The NY strip with a side of mashed potatoes and mixed broccoli, carrots, and brussel sprouts was seriously delicious. The star of the show, however, was my server Taylor. She knew the answer to every question about the menu, made amazing recommendations, and was very attentive despite having multiple tables come in at the same time! Ask to sit in her section and you will not be disappointed!
The Chubby Trout is a small, interesting place. Great atmosphere and awesome food options. The Sue Sue tacos are a bit spicy but delish! Lots of food. The prime rib sandwich, chubby trout plate and the kids fish bites were great.
I tell people all the time I would drive the 3 hrs from my home to enjoy any of the 4 restaurants because the service and food is so good!!! Today i just happened to be in town and it was AMAZING AS ALWAYS AND LOVE THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL ON MY SUSHI PLATE!!! Vegas roll and blackened striper fish tacos!!!
We decided to try this because we could walk there from our hotel and we were definitely impressed. We arrived around 6:15pm on Wednesday evening and were seated immediately. We both ordered from the beer menu. My husband ordered the So Heffen Good and I ordered the Freedom Of Speech. Both were very tasty. For dinner we ordered the prime Rib Pasta and the Blue Gill. The food arrived in good time and was very flavorful. The table next to us ordered the Sushi and we immediately wished we had tried it but we were also very happy with our choices. We decided to try the tiramisu cake for dessert and I had a Sauvignon Blanc to finish the evening. The cake was fantastic and the wine was great as well. Our waitress Tiff was fabulous and did a great job of making sure we were happy and well taken care of. Highly recommend.
Found this little gem when we stopped for the night on our road trip. It seemed like a must stop with the name and it did not disappoint. The key lime martini was delicious. The Chubby Trout was perfectly cooked and hubby had the halibut special which was also amazing. So good that I forgot pictures! They featured a house made tiramisu which was the perfect amount to share after our meal and was exactly what you’d expect for tiramisu.
First time here and we were blown away with the quality of food and our waitress Disiree!! We had the Chubby Trout and the American Dream Roll. The crab pepper bisque was so good. Fried cheese cake for dessert...yum!! We will be back!! ❤️
While passing through Elkhart, we decided to stop at this highly-rated restaurant and we were not disappointed! Our server Tanner offered a lot of great suggestions. I started with the Crab Pepper Bisque, which was loaded with fresh chunks of crab meat. The Sue Sue Shrimp sounded delicious, so I chose the Sue Sue tacos and they were GREAT! My wife chose the Cajun Spiced Pork Chop off the specials menu and loved it. When it came to dessert, we also had to try the Upside Down Peach Cake. It was delicious--slightly warmed up with fresh vanilla ice cream. Next time we are in the area, we are DEFINITELY stopping by again!
We were seated right away, which was a great start to our dining experience. Our server, Kaitlin, was fantastic and made some excellent recommendations throughout the meal. We started with the Volcano Roll (Kaitlin's recommendation, and it was absolutely delicious!), along with a Red Dragon Roll, a Kamikaze Roll, and yellowtail and salmon nigiri. For our entrées, we ordered the Ribeye served with sweet potato fries and house vegetables (green beans), as well as the Prime Time Sandwich. Every dish that came to our table was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, the steak was excellent, and everything we tried was truly amazing. Combined with the outstanding service, it made for a wonderful dining experience. I would highly recommend giving this place a try, you will not be disappointed!
